Annual Halloween Parade

The Twenty Second Annual Halloween Parade willtakr place on Sunday, October 27, 2019.
We ask that all the children and parents assemble, in costume, at exactly 1:30 pm, in the parking lot of the Norwood Public Librarty.
 
Kickoff is propply at 2: pm sharp!

We will then march, under firefighter supervision, to the Norwood Fire House on Broadway.
Once we arrive, there will be Holdiay Festives and Goodies for all who participated.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

The Easter Bunny will be visiting the Norwood Fire House on Sunday, April 14th at 1:30 pm.

 

Peter Cottontail will be there to meet with all the children and give a chance to win a prize for guessing How many Jellybeans in the Jar.

 

All children will receive candy and must be accompanied by parents.

Annual Memorial Service

On Thursday, May 24, 2018 Norwood Fire Co. 1 will hold our Annual Memorial Service for the deceased Firefighters that have served our community.  The service will be gin at 7 PM and we will be giving out flags to be placed on the graves of the Firefighters that have passed, also there will be light refreshments served after the service.

Norwood Fire Department Honors Deceased Firefighters
 
 
The Norwood Exempt Firemen’s Association will hold its Twenty Eight Annual Memorial Service at the Norwood Firehouse, 602 Broadway, on Thursday, May 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM.
 
Norwood Fire Co. No. 1 has been serving the Borough of Norwood for 106 years, during this time 300 firefighters have served and 135 have answered their final alarm.
 
This Memorial Service is an annual event to honor all deceased Members of the Norwood Fire Company No. 1, and the Ladies Auxiliary.
 
Representatives from New Jersey and Bergen County Fire Associations, as well as elected Officials of Norwood and the State of New Jersey will be in attendance at the Memorial Service.
 
The Norwood Exempt Firemen’s Association will present a Grave Flag and a Floral Tribute to each family of the deceased Member. Refreshments will be served after the Memorial program.
 
It is our sincere hope that you will be able to participate with us this year.

Easter Egg Hunt 2017

Here Comes Peter Cottontail
The Norwood Fire Company will host its 37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Egg Toss at Kennedy Memorial Park on Sunday, April 9th starting at 1:30PM. Peter Cottontail, Mickey Mouse, Snoopy, Smokey the Bear and Barney will be there to play with the children and award prizes to the lucky winners in all age groups up to 10 years old. All children will receive candy and must be accompanied by parents. Bring your camera and come out and have lots of fun with the firefighters. THERE WILL BE NO RAIN DATE!  ( if raining the event may be moved to the fire house) Any updates will be posted on our web site: norwoodfd.org

3rd ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14th

 

Celebrate at Norwood's Home for the Holidays


     The Norwood Fire Department has been notified by sources at the North Pole that Santa will make a visit to check on "who has been naughty and nice" by attending Norwood's third annual Home for the Holidays Parade on Sunday, December 18.
     Fire departments and first aide corps from the Northern Valley and Rockland County area with their vehicles decorated in holiday splendor will assemble along Kensington Avenue for the line march.
     Stepping off at 5 p.m., the route of the march can be enjoyed as it passes along Kensington Avenue, to Summit Street, to Hudson Avenue, arriving at the Clock Tower at Hudson Avenue and Livingston Street at approximately 5:40 p.m.
x Upon Santa's arrival at the Clock Tower aboard the Norwood Fire Department's vintage fire truck he will join Mayor Barsa and other special guests in welcoming all residents in attendance. The choir of Norwood's Chodae Church will entertain with selected seasonal favorites. At the conclusion of the "Welcome Home Ceremony," Santa will lead the parade to the fire house on Broad­way, where all are welcomed to join Santa for holiday refreshments.
     Once again, entertainment at Santa's reception will be pro­vided by the Norwood Public School Band as all enjoy the festive celebration of "Returning Home for the Holidays."
